By accessing or using 9-ON (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

9-ON is a platform for small, facilitated discussion groups called “Parlors.” The Service includes:

• Browsing and applying to join public discussion groups
• Creating and hosting your own Parlors
• User profiles for participants and hosts
• Scheduling and session management for groups
• Optional Google Calendar connection for hosts, used only to create and update Google Meet video sessions for that host's Parlors

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You may create an account using email/password or through Google OAuth authentication
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account

3.2 Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• You may not share your account credentials with others
• You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions

4. Hosting a Parlor

4.1 Fees

Creating, hosting, and joining Parlors on 9-ON is free. No initiation fee, membership fee, or payment is required to use the Service.

4.2 Host Responsibilities

• Hosts are responsible for managing their Parlor, including reviewing applications, scheduling sessions, and running discussions
• Hosts set the topic, capacity, schedule, and visibility of their Parlor
• Hosts must maintain a respectful and constructive environment for all participants
• Hosts may remove participants who violate these Terms or disrupt the group

5. Participant Conduct

All users agree to:

• Participate respectfully in discussions and treat other participants with courtesy
• Not share confidential information disclosed during group sessions without consent
• Not record, screenshot, or distribute session content without host permission
• Not use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Not harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Not impersonate any person or entity
• Not interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Not use automated systems to access the Service without permission

6. Content and Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

• You retain ownership of content you create or share through the Service (profile information, Parlor descriptions, discussion contributions)
• By using the Service, you grant us a license to use, store, and display your content as needed to provide the Service
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you post

6.2 Platform Content

• The 9-ON platform, design, and features are owned by 9-ON or our licensors
• You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from platform content without permission

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Disclaimers

• Service “As Is”: The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind
• No Guarantees: We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or outcomes of any discussion group
• Host Content: We are not responsible for content shared by hosts or participants during sessions
• Third-Party Services: We are not responsible for third-party services used during sessions (e.g., video conferencing platforms)

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 9-ON and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any conduct or content of other users or hosts
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or data
• Any interruption or cessation of the Service

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 9-ON and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Content you share during discussion sessions

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account, contact us at the email below.

11.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in conduct that is harmful to other users or the community
• We are required to do so by law

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the Effective Date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
